Holy Trinity Church runs a variety of bible study and community groups throughout the week.

Home Groups

We have a variety of home groups providing a safe setting in which to learn more about God. Our aim is to encourage one another as read the Bible, pray and learn together to live our lives in the light of what God has said.

Finding a group …

There are both evening and daytime groups, some meet in homes around the area and some in the Trinity Centre. Some groups are geared towards mums with young children, some for senior members, and we have an 20’s to 30’s group. Each group has a leader, typically meets weekly and lasts about 90 minutes. Often social activities are arranged as part of the term plan.

Christianity Explored

Time to consider the big questions of life and to explore the life of the person at the heart of the Christian faith – Jesus Christ. We run the course periodically, lasting seven weeks. This is ideal for those who want to explore the Christian faith for the first time or those who want a refresher of the basics. Watch a video about the course and find out about the next course here.

Monday Mums

‘Monday Mums’ is a group that aims to provide mothers with an oasis during the week where they can learn more of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. It is also a safe place in which to find friendship and support. We meet in the Trinity Centre Monday during school term time, 12.30pm – 2.40pm (ending in time to collect children from school.)

An oasis in the week …

At ‘Monday Mums’ we enjoy a bring-your-own lunch with the children and other mums. The children then go into the crèche to play while mums enjoy a time altogether, sharing news and then singing worship songs, before breaking into small groups for Bible Study and Prayer.

Lunch Club

Lunch Club is a group that aims to demonstrate God’s love by providing a delicious, good quality two course meal and the opportunity for friendship to retired elderly in our community. It meets every Wednesday throughout the year from 12pm – 2pm, unless Christmas falls on a Wednesday, in the Trinity Centre. A limited number of seats are available in the Age Concern minibus for those who cannot use public transport (cost £1).

It is run by Christine Cole with a team of willing volunteers and currently provides meals for 40-50 elderly people every week at a cost of £4 each. Tea and Coffee are included and are available before and after the meal. Once a month, there is a short Christian reflection time between courses.

Once a year there is an outing to a local garden centre for lunch and Christmas is always celebrated in traditional style with music provided by pupils from Holy Trinity Junior School.
