Building Project

The Project

In September 2014, we were really excited to announce that the work had begun on the transformation of the church building and the surrounding landscape. The project is part of a near 20 year vision to serve our community with the centre and to renew our church building and surrounding grounds for the purpose of knowing and sharing the life-changing news of Jesus Christ here in Wallington and beyond.

The Progress

We are delighted to say that the refurbished building was offically opened on the weekend of 28th November. Although some outstanding work has yet to be completed, the church is now open and in use. See here for all the latest news. And come and view too!

Roof Repair Fund

We very much appreciate the award of a sum of £12,700 from the Listed Places of Worship Roof Repair Fund. This provided 80% of the estimated costs of the replacement of the S facing roof slope to the N aisle of the church. The urgent need for the replacement of this roof slope was identified by our architect during the recent repair and refurbishment of our Grade B listed historic building and ensures this section of roof is now safe and watertight. The work was successfully completed in March 2017 at an estimated final cost of £17,034 including VAT. We will be able to recover VAT from a separate grant provided by the Listed Places of Worship scheme.”

The Prayer

It has been exciting to see God is at work in bringing this project to completion, we have been astonished to see finances raised which have exceeded our own expectations. In 2018 we hit our target and completed the fundraising for the £1,858,000 project.  Please join us in thanking God that this project has been completed.
